INVERNESS, Fla. (WFLA) – Authorities in Citrus County are asking for the public’s help in identifying a pair of armed robbery suspects.
Two men armed with baseball bats threatened store employees and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash just after 4 a.m. Sunday at the Speedway convenience store in the 9500 block of East Gulf to Lake Highway in Inverness.
A sheriff’s office spokesperson said the suspects were last seen fleeing east from the business on foot.
A K-9 unit was brought in, but lost track of the pair on Gospel Island Road.
Detectives believe the suspects may have gotten into a vehicle. Both appear to be white males with thin builds. Investigators say they concealed their faces with bandanas and at least one of them appeared to be wearing gloves.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the commission of the crime. If you have any information about this case or recognize the man in the surveillance pictures please contact Crime Stoppers of Citrus County at 1-888-ANY-TIPS.WHAT OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON RIGHT NOW:
