(WFLA) — Starbucks has announced they accidentally overcharged customers before the latest price increase of beverages is set to begin.
On Friday, the company announced customers were charged a maximum of 30 cents more than they should have been. The new price adjustment was prematurely entered into the point of sale systems in U.S. stores, according to a news release from Starbucks. The company apologized and said the error has been corrected.
The 30-cent price hike for select beverages is scheduled to kick in on July 12th.
If a customer believes the mistake impacted the price of their beverage, they are asked to contact Starbucks Customer Service at 1-800-782-7282 to fix the problem.
Starbucks previously increased their prices by 5 to 20 cents nationally last summer for most beverages.
