SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA)– Wendy Beaumont, of Sarasota, watched in horror as her ceiling caved in, after a pest control job went terribly wrong.

“This portion of the ceiling fell first,” she said, pointing out the damage in the hallway, leading into her kitchen. “My mom was right here, sweeping.”

Beaumont, who shares the home with her ailing mother, said she pushed her out of the way before the ceiling fell on her. Beaumont and her brother then helped scoop water out of the house. This disaster happened after a worker for Terminex accidentally leaned on a pipe in the attic.

“He finally swung open the door and said, “Uh, we have water coming out of the attic.” I said, “Water, are you kidding, this is a waterfall.”

There was so much water that it seeped down from the attic into other rooms.

“I do want answers,” Beaumont said. “I want to make sure the house is put back together.”

This happened nine days ago. Terminex sent out a contractor to start drying out the house, but Beaumont tells me no one with Terminex returned her calls.

She wants assurances the home she shares with her ailing mother  will be fixed. I just want to know that Terminex has not forgotten us.”

So she contacted Better Call Behnken, and we called the corporate office. A spokesman took immediate action, and an executive called Beaumont within hours with an apology and promises to fix the home. The spokesman said the home should be fully repaired with a couple of weeks.

The company also sent this statement:
