UPDATE: On Thursday, June 30th, The Sarasota Police Department says John Pyle has been charged with an additional 15 counts of possession of child pornography. This brings the current total count to 30.
SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Sarasota man is facing disturbing allegations involving child pornography.
Acting on multiple tips, officials arrested John M. Pyle, 59, of Sarasota and charged him with 15 counts of possession of child pornography.
When detectives arrived at Pyle’s S. Osprey Avenue condo early Friday morning, they say Pyle did not want to talk to them and immediately asked for an attorney.
Detectives searched Pyle’s condo and took items, including a laptop and cell phone.
Investigators uncovered two bondage images of child pornography, 15 images of sexual conduct and 31 child pornography with no sexual conduct.
According to arrest affidavits, images discovered on Pyle’s laptop contained images of nude girls believed to be approx. 7 years old. In at least one image, the photographed girl is believed to be as young as 1.
Pyle was taken to the Sarasota County Jail.
More charges are possible, and the case remains under investigation.
