Sarasota police detectives are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed clerks at two different hotels early Wednesday morning.
At approximately 12:15 a.m., a man walked into the lobby of the Quality Inn, located at 4800 North Tamiami Trail, and implied he had a gun.
The clerk gave the man an undisclosed amount of cash.
The man fled north on North Tamiami Trail.
Around 12:35 a.m., the same man attempted to rob the clerk at the Days Inn, located at 5000 North Tamiami Trail.
He again implied he had a gun and demanded cash.
After a brief conversation with the clerk, the man fled southbound on North Tamiami Trail with no cash.
There were no injuries in either robbery.
The man is described as 5’8″ to 5’9″ with a thin build. He is in his mid to late 50s and has blue eyes and light colored high.
The man was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, a black shirt, long, blue shorts and black water shoes.
