Police are looking for an armed and dangerous man after two people were shot in a North Sarasota neighborhood in the early morning hours on Friday.
The shooting happened around 1:30 am at a home on the 1400 block of 21st Street, just off Central Avenue.
Police said 33-year-old Linval Cohoone is wanted in connection with the shooting. He is considered armed and dangerous faces charges of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
Police have not yet released the identities of the two people who were shot, but they say both victims suffered serious injuries. They were rushed to Sarasota Memorial Hospital to undergo surgery.
Neighbors tell 8 On Your Side that the family who live where the shooting occurred had just moved in within the past few months.
Police said they have been to the neighborhood before, and get a high volume of calls to the north Sarasota area.
At this time, police also do not believe the shooting is related to drugs, though they did point out it is very early in the investigation.
