New details are expected to be released Wednesday on a cold case homicide in Sarasota that’s puzzled detectives for 19 years.

The sheriff’s office announced Sheriff Tom Knight would hold a news conference Wednesday morning to “highlight important developments” in the homicide of Deborah Dalzell.

Dalzell was found dead on March 29, 1999. Deputies found her body inside her home that day after co-workers voiced concerns when she didn’t show up for work.

Investigators say Dalzell was brutally beaten, sexually battered and strangled.
