The Sarasota Police Department is investigating a drowning that occurred at the 10th Street boat ramp on Wednesday.
Police said the drowning happened just after 7 p.m.
The victim is identified as a man around the age of 40.
One witness said he saw a floating body in the water.
Witness Anthony Bohling says that witness took matters into his own hands.
“He actually went out into the water and pulled that body out of the water and put him on to the beach. The ambulance showed up they tried to resuscitate him but it was too late,” Bohling said.
