A pedestrian has died after being struck by a vehicle in Sarasota on Saturday, SNN-TV reports.
The incident occurred on US 41, south of Brueckner Drive at about 9 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 23-year-old Jorge Avila Santos was driving himself and a passenger when someone entered his path. He was unable to stop and time and hit the pedestrian.
It’s unclear if charges are pending. Troopers are still working to identify the victim.
An investigation is going.
