NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — Police say they have located a missing elderly woman out of North Port.
North Port police sent the alert out early Sunday morning for Joyce Jacobs. Jacobs suffers from dementia and diabetes, and has a history of heart problems.
Jacobs had been missing from her home since around 4 p.m. Saturday.
Police say Officer Charles Ayres was off-duty and searching for Jacobs on his bike when he found her sitting in the woods.
Jacobs is now being evaluated by fire rescue crews, but police say she appears to be okay.
