A search for a killer is underway in Sarasota.
Somebody murdered a woman at a home south of University Parkway, just off the Tamiami Trail.
Just after 6 Wednesday evening, Sarasota County sent paramedics to a home on a dead-end street, to help an injured person.
Instead, they found the victim of a murder. Investigators are trying to figure out how the victim died, and who is responsible.
We do know, she is a white woman in her late 40’s. Detectives are sure, she is the victim of foul play, and are trying to find her killer.
The list of questions still outstanding is long: How did she die?, Does she live at the home or was she visiting? And why did someone want to kill her?
Cops tells us, neighbors can rest assured. “Right now we have no reason to believe the public is in any danger, however, we do not have a suspect in custody and the detectives are continuing their investigation” Genevieve Judge with the Sarasota Police Department.
Police are appealing to the public for information. They’d like to know if anyone heard or saw anything, especially an argument.
This murder happened 2 doors down from the “Sarasota mini-mart.”
An investigator was inside the store, going over security camera video, in the hopes it will help them catch the killer.
