NORTH PORT, Fla. (WFLA) — A 23-year-old Tampa man was killed Tuesday night in a crash in the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 near North Port, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle crash happened just after 8 p.m. near mile-marker 183 in Sarasota County.
The 23-year-old was driving a sedan in the middle lane when he collided with the rear of a SUV in front of him, FHP reported.
The man was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected.
The driver and one passenger in the SUV were not injured. A second passenger was treated for minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation.
