An Oklahoma man flew across the country to have sex with a 15-year-old girl from Venice, deputies said.

Angelo Francisco Trigoso-Jara, 27, was detained at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport Wednesday. He will soon be extradited back to Sarasota County to face a number of charges, including lewd or lascivious battery on a victim under 16, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies said Trigoso-Jara began corresponding with the girl on a website designed for strangers to meet anonymously online. The victim told him she was only 15, but Trigoso-Jara lied about his age, saying he was only 23.

According to deputies, Trigoso-Jara traveled to Venice and picked the victim up from her home.  He then took her to a hotel room where the two engaged in sexual activity.  Deputies said he continued to communicate with the teen after the incident and sent her photos and videos of himself exposing his genitals.

Detectives began investigating Trigoso-Jara in February after the victim’s mother contacted the sheriff’s office.

Working with the U.S. Customs and the U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force, investigators tracked down and arrested Trigoso-Jara at the Dallas/Ft. Worth Airport Wednesday.  He was taken to the Arlington City Jail where he remains in custody without bond.

Deputies said he will soon be extradited back to Sarasota County to face five counts of Lewd or Lascivious Battery on a Victim under 16, two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Exhibition Using a Computer, Solicitation of a Child via Computer to Commit an Unlawful Sexual Act, and Travelling to Meet a Minor to Commit an Unlawful Sexual Act.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are pending.
