A 6-year-old girl was rushed to the hospital via Bayflight after nearly drowning in a pool in Sarasota County, officials said.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the Sarasota County Fire Rescue responded to a pool at the Sun-N-Fun RV Resort located at 7125 Fruitville Rd.
“Our units responded quickly, we arrived on scene. When we got there the young lady was already out of the pool being tended to by lifeguards on scene, we initiated care and deemed it was appropriate to send her to All Children’s Hospital via Bayflight service,” an official told SNN-TV.
The child’s condition is unknown, but officials said she was awake and crying before being airlifted. It’s still unclear how long she was underwater.
