SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — Drivers might want to find alternate routes while crews work to hoist a box truck out of the water after it drove off the Coon Key Bridge on Monday morning.

Police say the driver made it out of the truck safely, but the truck remained the water.

The Sarasota Police Department closed the westbound lanes of the bridge just before 4 p.m. on Monday so crews could get the box truck out of the water. The removal is expected to take about three hours.

The truck removal is also impacting drivers from Bird Key Park to the Sarasota Yacht Club. Police say one lane is now westbound and one lane is now eastbound.
