Report: New York Mets to sign former QB Tim Tebow

(WFLA) — It looks like Tim Tebow is moving to New York. According to ESPN, the former football quarterback will be signed by the New York Mets to a minor league deal.

Several other MLB teams have also had their eyes on Tebow lately, including the Atlanta Braves and Colorado Rockies.

Details of the contract between Tebow, 29, and the Mets have not been officially announced. The Mets posted on Twitter Tebow will participate in the Mets Instructional League.

Tebow won the Heisman Trophy while playing for the Florida Gators in 2007.
