LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – Railroad construction is expected to cause a traffic nightmare in downtown Lakeland.
CSX crews will work on the railroad crossings beginning Tuesday morning.
The project should wrap up by Friday, the company said.
North and south traffic through downtown Lakeland will be severely impacted during this time, the city of Lakeland said in a statement.
The following rail crossings are part of this maintenance schedule:
- Ingraham Avenue
- Massachusetts Avenue
- Kentucky Avenue
- Missouri Avenue
Florida Avenue, Tennessee Avenue and the In-town Bypass are detours for north and southbound traffic through downtown during the construction.
The company will replace railway timbers and ties.
This is the third project in the Bay area by CSX this year.
Lutz and Clearwater drivers faced traffic tie-ups in February and March.STORIES OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON-
