UPDATE- The sheriff’s office says the lockdown is over and school operations are back to normal.
WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. (WFLA) — Double Branch Elementary School in Wesley Chapel was placed on precautionary lockdown on Wednesday morning.
The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office said that a precautionary lockdown was put into effect around 11 a.m. because of law enforcement activity in Country Walk, which is a community nearby.
The sheriff’s office says there is no direct threat to the school at this time. The increase in security is out of an abundance of caution for children and staff.
Double Branch Elementary School is located at 31500 Chancey Rd. in Wesley Chapel,
