LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) – The Florida Highway Patrol was on scene of a fatal crash in the westbound lanes of Interstate 4 in Lakeland on Tuesday.
The crash occurred near mile marker 32.
According to FHP, Lonnie Webb, 21, was traveling east on I-4 when for unknown reasons, Webb lost control of the vehicle.
The vehicle left the road and entered the center median, collided with the cable barrier, overturned and came to rest in the westbound lanes of I-4.
Webb was traveling with five passengers, all of who were taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital.
One of the passengers, Eyesenia Webb, 44, of Paterson, NJ, died of her injuries.
