WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (WFLA) — A Winter Haven man is behind bars being accused of pointing a gun at a couple in a Burger King parking lot, according to the Winter Haven Police Department.

Brandon Williams, 27, pulled into the parking lot of the fast-food joint around 4:35 p.m. on Tuesday, located at 205 Cypress Gardens Boulevard.

As he pulled into a spot, a couple in another vehicle picking up an order for DoorDash was backing out of the spot they were in. Williams honked at their car, and the driver began pulling away.

Police said Williams then started yelling at the couple, pulled up beside them, and pointed a gun at them. The suspect then went into the drive-thru lane as the couple called 911.

The couple told officials the direction Williams went after he left the drive-thru, and police were able to locate his vehicle near the Murphy Gas Station on Highway 17.

Police conducted a traffic stop and arrested Williams. In his car, officers found the firearm matching the description from the couple.

Williams was taken to the Polk County Jail for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

At his first appearance Wednesday, a judge set Williams’ bond at $7,500 for each count.
