TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A vehicle fire caused delays along I-4 in Polk County on Thursday morning.
The fire was spotted at around 5:30 a.m. along the westbound lanes of I-4 near the US-27 exit in Davenport.
Crews extinguished the blaze and the closed lanes have reopened. A Florida Department of Transportation traffic camera captured the moment sparks erupted from the vehicle as first responders sprayed it down with water.
Despite the road reopening, delays persisted in the westbound lanes for hours.
