LAKELAND, Fla. (WFLA) —The RP Funding Center announced Wednesday a new bag policy that will go into effect immediately.

The new policy will regulate the usage of clear bags and small clutch purses and underscores the possibility of bag searches and metal detector screenings to ensure security measures for visitors at all ticketed events.

As part of the announcement, the RP Funding Center also announced new guidelines for other prohibited items, including outside food/drink, guns or weapons of any nature, and pocket knives/knives.

All guests are subject to metal detection screening/bag search. Prohibited items will not be allowed into the venue, and guests will be asked to return them to their vehicle before entering.

The center says implementing these new guidelines is an effort to expedite entry into the venue and ensure patron safety.

The new guidelines are as follows:

Permitted Bags:

Bags that are clear plastic, clear vinyl, or transparent PVC and do not exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 15 inches.

One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags (Ziploc bag or similar)

Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap that do not exceed 8.5 inches x 6 inches.

Exemptions to the new guidelines:

Medical bags (Tote style only, no backpacks)

Childcare bags, e.g., diaper bags when guests bring a child to an event (Tote style only, no backpacks)
