POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A motorcyclist has died after getting into a crash with a truck off of Highway 92 in Davenport.
According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash happened just after noon Thursday near the intersection of Highway 92 and Sunny Acres Road.
Deputies say the driver of the truck crossed into the path of the motorcyclist and the motorcyclist who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash was ejected.
No criminal charges are currently anticipated, and civil charges will be pending the completion of the investigation, which is ongoing.
US 17/92 was closed in both directions for approximately three hours.
