POLK COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — Thirteen men are facing thousands of felony charges following a month-long child pornography investigation in Polk County, Sheriff Grady Judd announced Tuesday.

Among the suspects are a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, a Lakeland High School teacher and varsity soccer coach, and an assistant coach for a youth football team.

The men were arrested in “Operation Guardians of the Innocence VI,” a sting carried out by undercover detectives that specialize in online crimes.

Judd said detectives seized the men’s electronic devices while following up on numerous tips and discovered thousands of photos and videos depicting children being forced to engage in sex acts.

The men include Silas Toussaint Harris, 27, an assistant coach for the Lakeland Destroyers, a little league football team, who admitted to investigators that he had viewed and shared child pornography on social media. Also arrested was Shawn Fitzgerald, 46, a Lakeland High School teacher and varsity soccer coach who led a youth group at a church in Bartow. Detectives said they found hundreds of images of children as young as 12 months old on his electronic devices.

Altogether, the men are facing more than 2,300 felony charges related to child pornography offenses. The men are:

  • Shaun David Bonacci, 43, of Davenport
  • Henry Dunn, 47, of Winter Haven
  • Jonathan Godwin, 20, of Winter Haven
  • Silas Toussaint Harris, 27, of Lakeland
  • Christian Martinez-Rivera, 30, of Haines City
  • Clifford Wayne Rogers, 40, of Bartow
  • Robert Thomas Schank, 47, of Davenport
  • Eugene Skaggs, Jr., 28, of Polk City
  • Michael Tateishi, 47, of Lakeland
  • Joquin Trejo, 44, of Bartow
  • Kevin Scott Woods, 39, of Polk City
  • Eddy Zumeta, Jr., 32, of Winter Haven
  • Shawn Fitzgerald, 46, of Lakeland

“We are committed to protecting our children from those who possess and distribute child pornography. The men arrested in this operation create a market for these kinds of horrific images that are dependent upon the continued sexual abuse and rape of babies and children worldwide. Each time these images and videos are uploaded and shared these children are victimized again and again. I appreciate the hard work our detectives did that was necessary to file these charges,” Judd said.
