BARTOW, Fla. (WFLA) — A Bartow woman learned that no good deed goes unpunished after a couple she was housing stole from her, according to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO).

The sheriff’s office said the woman allowed 27-year-old Frank Witmer and his girlfriend, 38-year-old Crystal Harrell, to stay in a motorhome on her property, as well as borrow her cell phone starting on Feb. 5.

On Valentine’s Day, the couple was arrested by PCSO and had several credit cards belonging to the woman. After their arrest, the Bartow woman noticed she was also missing an inflatable hot tub and a Bluetooth speaker.

Detectives said they found photos of the hot tub and speaker on the victim’s cell phone which Witmer had in his possession. The photos were forwarded to a pawn shop and a Facebook Marketplace listing for the hot tub had been posted by Witmer.

Witmer and Harrell were charged with five felony counts of theft and attempts to sell stolen property.
