Four people were injured in a crash that shut down part of I-4 in Lakeland for hours on Friday night.
Florida Highway Patrol says the four-vehicle crash happened just after 10 p.m. at mile marker 39.
Troopers say 31-year-old Vicente Oyola was headed west on the interstate in his Acura MDX when he drove onto the median, hit a cable barrier and then went into the eastbound lanes.
According to the FHP report, Oyola then sideswiped a Lincoln Town Car before slamming into a van head-on. Troopers say that collision forced the van into the path of a semi-truck.
The semi-truck hit the van then flipped over in the center median, the FHP report says.
In the crash report, troopers say Oyola was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was taken to Lakeland Regional Hospital in critical condition. Charges against him are pending.
The 36-year-old driver of the van and his 35-year-old passenger were taken to Lakeland Regional with serious injuries. A 1-year-old girl who was in the van suffered minor injuries and was also taken to Lakeland Regional. All three are from California, according to the crash report.
The 50-year-old driver of the Lincoln Town car was not injured but did get ticketed for driving with a suspended license and no insurance.
The 53-year-old semi-truck driver from North Carolina was not injured.
All eastbound lanes of I-4 were shut down until 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
