The March election may seem a long way off, but it’s never too early to learn about the candidates in the race for Tampa’s next mayor.
The first debate was hosted by the Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce on Wednesday night at the Dale Mabry campus of Hillsborough Community College.
“Learn about the candidates’ platforms and stances on key issues as they respond to questions submitted by the Catalyst Committee, which is made up of young professional in Tampa Bay. This debate will provide our community a profound opportunity to participate in the civic process by reflecting on the past, build upon our successes, and explore solutions that will move Tampa Bay forward.”
All candidates who registered with the Hillsborough County Supervisor of Elections were invited to participate.

Declined debate participation:
- Michael Anthony Hazard
- David A. Straz Jr.
The debate will be moderated by Aaron Sharockman, Executive Director of PolitiFact.
The election will held March 5, 2019.
