Robert Mueller has finished his report. The big question now: what’s in it?
Mueller’s team delivered the report to Attorney General William Barr on Friday evening. He has the discretion to release some or all of it to Congress, promising to brief members “as early as this weekend.”
Now the battle begins to make the report public.
In a rare show of bipartisanship, Congress unanimously voted 420-0 last week to make the report public. But it was a nonbinding resolution–the decision is up to Barr, and he reports to the president.
If the report is good news for President Trump and clears his name, he’ll likely want the report released. If there are elements that may not be positive for him, things could get tricky.
