(WFLA/CNN Newsource) – Senator Bill Nelson wants Governor Rick Scott to recuse himself from the Florida recount process.
Monday, Nelson released a video statement arguing Scott should not be the one to oversee the recount.
“Two unfortunate facts have become clear as everyday folks are watching this process. And one fact is that Rick Scott isn’t interested in making sure every lawful vote is counted. And the second is that he’s using his power as governor to try to undermine the voting process. He’s thrown around words like ‘voter fraud’ without any proof,” Nelson says in the video.
Election officials are racing to meet Florida’s Thursday deadline to complete their work.
