ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A man in Pinellas County has been arrested for allegedly striking two females with his vehicle, including his 17-year-old step-sister.

St. Petersburg Police say Robert Templeton was visiting a home on 13th Avenue South to see Alana Simpson. The pair began arguing and police say Templeton struck Simpson causing injuries.

Police say he then left the home in his car. The argument continued and he circled back behind the home and that’s when he intentionally drove his car at Simpson and his 17-year-old step-sister, Christina Gaffney, according to police.

Gaffney sustained multiple serious injuries and was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg where she was initially listed in critical condition. Her status has since been upgraded to stable. Simpson received minor injuries.

Templeton was arrested and charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery. He was taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
