GREENEVILLE, Tenn. – Authorities say three people have fallen from a Ferris wheel at a county fairground in eastern Tennessee.
The Greeneville Sun reports that Greeneville Police Detective Capt. Tim Davis said all three fell 30 to 45 feet from the ride Monday evening. Davis says the oldest of the three is a 16-year-old girl.
The detective says officers were interviewing witnesses and all carnival rides would be shut down for the night.
“We treat it like a crime scene until we determine there’s no foul play,” Davis says. “We don’t know at this time what caused the accident.”
County-Greeneville EMS Operations Director T.J. Manis says those who fell were taken a hospital in Johnson City – two by helicopter and one by ambulance. Their conditions were not available.
