PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — Police have identified the two men involved in an overnight shooting in the Wawa parking lot on 34th Street North in Pinellas Park.
Police say 26-year-old Ernest Russ shot 25-year-old Ryan Dahill, but say they believe Dahill is the aggressor in the situation.
Investigators say Dahill was inside the Wawa late Saturday night being disruptive towards other customers when he exchanged words with Russ. Russ then went outside to the parking lot with his friends to wait for their food order.
Dahill then left the store and exchanged words with Russ again in the parking lot. Police say Dahill punched Russ in the face, knocking him to the ground.
Russ pulled out his gun when he saw Dahill standing over him and shot at the man, according to officers.
Dahill was hit once and taken to the hospital. Police say he is in critical but stable condition.
Police believe Dahill was the aggressor, but have not been able to talk to him yet because of his medical condition.STORIES OTHERS ARE CLICKING ON
