PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla
The Bay Pines VA Healthcare System will commemorate Memorial Day with their annual ceremony at Bay Pines National Cemetery. This cemetery is the only national cemetery in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties. It is the largest Memorial Day observance as more than 4,000 people are expected to attend.
The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. and it will include traditional military tributes, music, and guest speakers. Retired U.S. Master Sgt. Scott Neil will provide the keynote address for today’s ceremony.
On Saturday, volunteers from the community marked more than 35,000 graves at the cemetery with American flags to honor the men and women who served our Nation.
Parking for the ceremony is available nearby. Shuttles will provide transportation for guests from parking lots to the National Cemetery. The venue is handicapped accessible. A sign language interpreter will also be available for the hearing impaired.
