UPDATE: The owner of Ace Events told News Channel 8 on Saturday that he has confirmation the FedEx containing the check was received.

ORIGINAL STORY After working for two days at the Valspar Championship in Palm Harbor, Samantha Falcone is still waiting for her paycheck.

The 17-year-old said she should have been paid two weeks ago.

“I got a payroll card and they said they were going to put money on it. I just had to call and activate it that day. I called Thursday, it wasn’t there, I called Friday, it wasn’t there,” she said.

Falcone reached out to Event Aces and spoke to one of the employees who hired her, but felt like she was getting the runaround.

“He’s saying that there’s a check that’s going to be mailed out,” said Falcone.

When 8 On Your Side called George Krokondelas, the owner of Event Aces, he told us Falcone’s check went out on March 22, but was returned to payroll.

Krokondelas said he was made aware of the situation Thursday morning and reached out to her father, who he claimed became belligerent.

Krokondelas tells us the check is being sent overnight via FedEx and Falcone will have her money by Saturday.

Valspar representatives said Event Aces is subcontracted and they don’t hire the concession workers directly.
