LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — A St. Petersburg transient was arrested Saturday after police say he allegedly attacked a woman and snatched her shoes off her feet.
Largo police said the victim confronted Christopher Paul Daw, 52, of St. Petersburg for allegedly spitting on cars in the area of West Bay Drive.
An arrest report said during the confrontation, Daw jumped and kicked the woman in the abdomen, knocking her to the ground.
It was at this point that Daw allegedly took the woman’s shoes off her feet and ran to a nearby Walgreens, according to police.
The report said the suspect admitted to kicking the victim after being read his rights. The woman’s shoes were returned to her after Daw was taken into custody.
He has since been charged with robbery by sudden snatching and felony battery. Daw was previously convicted for battery, according to the report.
