The man at the center of a deadly “stand your ground” case in Clearwater will tell a judge he needs clarification on where he’s allowed to go while out on bond.
The problem involves following a court order to stay away from the more than 100 people considered witnesses in the case, according to a recently filed motion.
Michael Drejka was charged with manslaughter after killing Markeis McGlockton back in July. He will ask the judge for clarification about Friday.
Drejka has been wearing a GPS monitor since he was released from jail last September.
He can be seen in surveillance video shooting McGlockton after being pushed to the ground.
Previously obtained documents revealed that investigators determined McGlockton was turning away when the shot was fired.
Drejka is claiming self-defense and apologized to the family while he was in jail.
McGlockton’s family has been outspoken and doesn’t believe Drejka should be out of jail.
McGlockton’s girlfriend, Britany Jacobs is now 8-months pregnant with their fourth child.
The court hearing to address Drejka’s concerns will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m.
