PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A man is now being charged for the death of a woman who was killed following a domestic-related shooting in St. Petersburg, police say.
According to the St. Petersburg Police Department, 25-year-old Temidayo Ayoola has been charged with second-degree murder.
Police say officers were called around 1:30 p.m. Sunday regarding a shooting at 1253 8th Avenue S. A 27-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
A release from SPPD says the woman’s 18-month-old daughter was home at the time of the incident, however, was not injured.
“We know that the woman and the young child were visiting from outside the area. And now we’re still trying to figure out what led to the shooting,” said Yolanda Fernandez with the St. Petersburg Police Department.
“It’s shocking. I really hate that to happen to anyone,” said neighbor, Stevie Walker. “I don’t think they’ve been here that long.”
