Pinellas County deputies are investigating a two-vehicle crash that occurred in Largo on Thursday.
According to investigators, the crash occurred on Seminole Boulevard at Lark Drive Southwest around 6:03 p.m.
Joseph Johnson, 31, was driving his Chevrolet Camaro northbound on Seminole Blvd. when he ran a red light at Lark Drive Southwest.
Investigators say Deputy Jason Beetz, 33, was on-duty and traveling southbound in a fully marked vehicle.
Deputy Beetz made a left turn at the light on a green arrow to go east on Lake Drive Southwest when he was struck by Johnson.
Both Deputy Beetz and Johnson were taken to hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
Johnson will be charged with driving while license suspended and cited for failure to obey traffic control signal and having no vehicle insurance.
It appears that speed was a factor in the crash.
