Carol and Don Gaudreau were shocked to hear their former neighbor, Michael Petralia, was arrested for spying on his roommate with a nanny camera.

“It’s sad that a lot of things have come to this. It’s not the same world we had when we were teenagers,” said Carol.

Detectives were called to the home on Silk Oak Lane in Hudson back in September.

The victim said Petralia had been making sexual advances at her when her boyfriend went out of town to work one weekend.

She told investigators she found him in the attic one night, making noises above her bedroom.

“He was up in the attic, claiming there was some type of raccoon up in the attic and he kept going up in the attic and she got suspicious,” said Kevin Doll, Pasco Sheriff’s Office spokesman.

“Caught him up there one time in the attic and she noticed there were some holes in the ceiling of her bedroom.”

The next day, the victim found the camera in the attic after Petralia said he’d leave.

“Later she found a camera up there that he had been recording her while she was sleeping and possibly changing in her bedroom,” said Doll.

Petralia was arrested Tuesday.

His mother had no comment when we stopped by his new residence Wednesday.

Neighbors said thankfully he was caught.

“If the opportunity is there for these guys, I guess they’re going to take it,” said Don.

According to the report, Petralia had been staying with the couple for a year and knew the victim since junior high.
