ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) -A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday afternoon in St. Petersburg, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.
According to the police, the motorcyclist was traveling south on 34th Street North and for some reason, did not stop crashing into the back of the cargo van.
The driver of the motorcycle, John Brakefield, 59, of St. Petersburg died of his injuries at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing. All lanes of 34th Street North are now open to traffic.
Troopers say the driver is cooperating with the investigation.
