Deputies: Dunedin man charged with 1st-degree murder after shooting, killing mom

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A Dunedin man is now facing a first-degree murder charge after deputies say he shot and killed his mother Friday morning at home.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to a home in the 1500 block of Coastal Place around 2 a.m. for a report of a possible homicide.

Following their investigation, detectives say 31-year-old Nicholas Noren got into an altercation with his mother, 60-year-old Donna Noren.

Deputies say Nicholas shot his mother one time during the altercation. Donna was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

He’s been charged with first-degree murder and taken to the Pinellas County Jail.
