TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – The Cross Bay Ferry will return to Tampa Bay for its fourth season, beginning Sunday, Nov. 1 with a number of health and safety protocols in place to further reduce the risk of COVID-19’s spread.
The ferry service runs between the Tampa Convention Center and St. Pete’s Museum of Fine Arts. Its passenger capacity, normally 149 people, slid to 50% in March due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The ferry plans to operate at full capacity with face coverings being required at all times while inside the ferry. High traffic touchpoints, such as door handles and rails, will be wiped down and sanitized in between every trip
“We are confident that we can provide reliable and safe service even at full capacity and still maintain those social distancing guidelines. But we are monitoring and will adjust as needed,” Kevin Fisher, General Manager of the Cross Bay Ferry.
Tickets can be purchased online or at dockside ticket booths. The ticket prices are $10 for an adult, $8 for seniors 65 and up, active and retired military and college students, $5 for youth aged five to 18, and free for children four and under.
The ferry will operate Wednesdays through Sundays. A full schedule and more information is available on the ferry’s website.
