Police have arrested a man accused of using an AK-47 to shoot and kill another man in the parking lot of a St. Pete nightclub.
St. Petersburg Police Department detectives arrested James Williams, 24, on a felony murder charge for the shooting death of 33-year-old Jermaine Long.
Detectives say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. on April 2 in the parking lot of The Sugar Room nightclub located at 1239 4th St S.
Investigators believe the men were involved in a fight inside the nightclub led to a confrontation outside.
Williams allegedly used an AK-47 to shoot at a car driving away from the club. Long was a passenger inside the car.
Police say they anticipate additional arrests in the case.
