TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A 20-year-old man was shot in the leg following an argument over money at a Clearwater Chick-fil-A Friday morning. The shooter is in custody, according to police.

Police were called to the Chick-fil-A on 2516 Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard around 7:45 a.m. They said a group of people got into an altercation and one person, later identified as Victor Marquez, was shot in the leg.

“There is some relationship there. We don’t know the extent of it. We don’t know how they know each other, but we do know they were familiar to one another,” said Deputy Chief Eric Gandy, Clearwater Police Department.

Marquez was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for injuries that police say were non-life-threatening. He remains in stable condition, according to Clearwater police.

Police said the shooter, 20-year-old Jack Colston, was taken into custody.

Colston is being charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, shooting within an occupied building, and carrying a concealed firearm.
