Two assisted living facilities in St. Petersburg have been shut down after residents were found living in deplorable conditions, police said.
On Thursday, the St. Petersburg Police Department has started the process of shuttering two homes that are run by Tampa Bay Behavioral Health. The facilities are located at 3434 2nd Ave S. and 3418 2nd Ave S.
Police said there was no running water or electricity in the homes and residents were found living in deplorable conditions. Officers also found drug paraphernalia on the premises.
According to police, nine disabled adults are displaced and that number could grow. Multiple agencies are currently at the scene trying to find them new accommodations.
No arrests have been made at this time.
