A 17-year-old was arrested on Wednesday for threatening to “shoot up” Gibbs High School on Facebook.
According to St. Petersburg police, the student was arrested at his Pinellas Park home after tips were received through school resource officers and their tip line.
The student posted on Facebook that he would shoot up the school if someone “liked” his post.
He also had several posts of himself and firearms.
The student also violated the terms of his probation and will be charged accordingly.
A Gibbs High School student who police said encouraged the 17-year-old received school consequences.
The 17-year-old is charged with written threats to conduct a mass shooting/act of terrorism.
