ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (WFLA) — A house fire in St. Petersburg killed one person and injured two other people early Sunday morning, officials said.

St. Petersburg Fire Rescue said it responded to a fire on 63rd Avenue North at around 4:45 a.m.

When firefighters arrived, they found a house engulfed in flames and two adults in the front yard.

The two people were treated and taken to a hospital while fire crews began using hose lines to extinguish the fire before it spread to other homes.
