A woman allegedly lost her cool and attacked a stranger who was “staring” at her, authorities said.
Jana Lee McLaughlin, 42, was at a home in the 6600 block of Statice Lane in New Port Richey when she began arguing with the victim.
“[The] defendant and victim are not known to each other and an argument started over the victim “staring” at the defendant,” an arrest report states.
During the confrontation, authorities said McLaughlin hit the victim with a closed fist multiple times on the head and face.
A search of her property turned up a glass pipe “commonly used for smoking meth,” authorities said.
McLaughlin was arrested for simple battery and possession of paraphernalia and booked into the Pasco County Jail.
Her bond was set to $500.
