Pasco sheriff K9 deputy tracks down burglary suspect

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is thanking K9 Deputy JR for helping track down a burglary suspect.

Daniel Montanez, 32, fled on foot from deputies with the sheriff’s office into a wooded area of Moon Lake after deputies say Montanez broke into John’s Laundry Company through the roof and left with numerous items including a food cart.

That’s when PSO Aviation and K9 JR were deployed to assist and find Montanez hiding in thick brush.

The sheriff’s office says videos like the posted to their Facebook page help highlight the important work K9s bring to keep Pasco County safe.

Montanez was taken without incident and has been charged with felony burglary and resisting an officer.
