TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — An anonymous threat sent from an out-of-state minor caused two Pasco County schools to go on controlled campus status on Monday.

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office announced that Charles S. Rushe Middle School and Sunlake High School went into controlled campus status after an anonymous threat was made regarding a weapon on campus.

The sheriff’s office later said the sender of the threat was identified as a juvenile from out of state and that there is no threat to either school at this time.

Local police are continuing to investigate.
